Suspected Bannanje Raja aides arrested for making threatening calls to builder

Udupi, 07 Aug 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Udupi Police have arrested two persons said to be accomplices of underworld don Bannanje Raja  on the charges of making threatening calls to a builder. The arrested are  Dhanaraj Malpe and Ullas, both residents of Katapady.

The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by Prabhaker Poojary, Proprietor of Classic Builders.

Sources said Prabhaker Poojary used to get phone calls  by a person asking him to meet the latter at a particular place. But  every time the stranger used to give a slip. On Monday, the man again called Prabhaker and asked him to come near Malpe beach. Prabhaker immediately informed the Malpe police who   kept a close watch.

Soon a person introducing himself as Vicky Poojary  told Prabhaker that  he made money in the name of  Bannanje Raja and asked Prabhaker to part  a share of his earnings. He even threatened murder if his demand was not conceded. Malpe Police who swung into action arrested two persons. Investigations are in progress.
