On The Reconstruction of Bhatkal-Shirali Inter Connecting Bridge, A Special Meeting was called at Shirali Panchayat

Bhtakal, 05 July 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: On the reconstruction of Bhatkal-Shirali interconnecting bridge at Pallihole of Shirali, which was collapsed few days before due to heavy rain, A special meeting was called on Monday at the Shirali Panchayat Office to overcome this issue.

The meeting was chaired by the president of panchayat Venkatesh Naik urged the assistant engineer of KRDCL and other contractors for reconstruction of the bridge within ten days.

The former member of Sirali panchayat Najeeb Abdul Kadheer said: "demolishing the existing bridge without any proper alternative of it has led the women, students and other to face lots of problems.” And advice to construct the temporary bridge to overcome to the public problems. Replying to his opinion the contractor of the company Ravikiran D’costa while admitting their mistake of demolishing the original bridge without arranging an alternative for the residents said “Due to some political pressures we had to start the construction of bridge during monsoon. We admit our mistake of not making a proper alternative before starting the renovation works.” By seeing the difficulties of the public, they had made a decision to constructed the temporary bridge.

On this meeting, Ullas Shanbagh, PDO Uday, Ganapati Naik, Kumar Naik, Nagappa Naik, Baskar Moger and others were present.
