Bengaluru, 24 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi and his mother AICC former president Sonia Gandhi arrived in Bengaluru to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of H D Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister and Dr. G Parameshwara as the Deputy Chief Minister in the JDS-Congress coalition government in the state.
Both Rahul and Sonia directly went to Hilton Resort of the city and visited the Congress MLAs soon after arriving at the HAL Airport. They spoke to the party MLAs as few MLAs were allegedly disappointed by the resort stay even though they showed commitment to the party.
Rains disturb celebrations
Heavy rainfall in the capital city disturbed all preparations done for the oath-taking ceremony of HDK and Dr. G. Parameshwara in front of the Vidhana Soudha. In spite of rains, the JDS and Congress workers celebrated by dancing and shouting slogans. They took protection from rains with the help of chairs, cutouts, banners, while few had umbrellas.
Governor Vajubhai Vala will swear in H D Kumaraswamy as the 25th CM of the state Dr. G Parameshwara as the DCM at 4.30 pm. The event may be organized in Banquet Hall if rains play spoilsport.
