BSY's fan attempts suicide due to political turmoil in state

Sirsi, 23 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Dejected by the fact that BJP State President BS Yeddyurappa had to step down from the post of the Chief Minister merely two days after being sworn-in, a die-hard fan of the leader attempted to end his life on Monday.

Suresh Poojary, 33, from Unchalli of Sirsi taluk of Uttara Kannada district had consumed poison to end life, late on Monday night, but since he was rushed to the hospital immediately he could be saved.

Suresh Poojary is an active worker of Bharathiya Janatha Party and has also fought the local Gram Panchayat election last year, but lost it. He actively participated in the campaign during the Assembly election, mainly in the publicity campaigns in Unchalli and nearby villages of Yallapur Assembly constituency. The doctor said that Suresh Poojary is responding to the treatment and his health condition is steady.

Yallapur BJP candidate (lost in the election) V S Patila and Sirsi MLA Vishveshvara Hegade Kageri visited the hospital to check his health condition.
