Intl coffee sale centre to be established in Chikkamagaluru: Shah

Mudigere, 02 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: BJP National President Amit Shah assured of establishing an areca nut research centre in the state worth Rs.500 crores if BJP comes to power.

Speaking at a public meet here on Tuesday, Shah said, “Already the Central government has favored the local areca nut farmers with 100 per cent import duty. Along with that, an international coffee sale centre will be established in Chikkamagaluru - the birthplace of Indian coffee. People from all stages who grow coffee will be out of troubles with suitable schemes,” he said.

“In the state, in last five years 3,700 farmers committed suicide. Cases of farmer suicide cases have increased by 173% in the state while it has dipped by 32% in BJP-ruled state Maharashtra. The Siddaramaiah government has neglected the farmers completely," Shah added.
